How To Repurpose Your Glass Candle Vessels

Check out these instructions for how to remove old wax and ideas for repurposing your glass candle vessels:

Step 1: Remove the wax

You’ll Need:
  • Medium Bowl
  • Hot Water
  • Spoon
  • Butter Knife
  • Dish soap
  • Kitchen Towel

Fill a medium size bowl with 1/3 hot water. Place the candle inside the bowl and wait 3 minutes.

Gently scoop out the wax with a spoon. Tip: don’t pour the wax down the drain and don’t microwave!

Take your butter knife and gently remove the wick tab at the bottom of the vessel.

Hand wash vessel with soap and water and dry.

Now you’re ready to create!

Step 2: Create your planter

You’ll need:
  • Pebbles
  • Activated Charcoal (optional)
  • Planting Soil
  • Succulent of Choice

Start with about 1.5 inches of pebbles at the bottom of the vessel.

Add about an inch of activated charcoal. This step is optional but the charcoal helps with drainage.

Lastly, add soil and your succulent. Don’t forget to add some love!
